Gaelscoil Nua, Stepaside

As you may be aware a new Gaelscoil under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnach will open in Aiken’s Village, Stepaside in September 2013.

The new Principal, Conchúr Ó Raghallaigh has been appointed and a parents’ committee has been established. The name of the new school is Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua, which is the histroical name for the nearby Three Rock mountain. The Board of Managment will be appointed during the first school term.

I have attached a flyer with information and contact details. We, the parents of the children enrolled for September, would be very grateful if you could pass the information on to the constituents in your local areas and generally promote awareness of the new school. As you know, the opening of a new school is an exciting time but also involves hard work on behalf of those involved and with a limited budget we are relying on the goodwill of peopl like yourselves to help make it a success.

Richmond welcomes funding for Glencullen

Local Fine Gael Councillor Neale Richmond has welcomed the annoucnement that €494,938 in funding has been approved under the Rural Development Programme for development of a community facility in Glencullen.

“Phil Hogan TD, Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government announced that he has given sanction for Fingal Leader Partnership Co. to approve funding of €494,938, to Stars of Erin for the development of a multi-function community facility in Glencullen under the Basic services for the economy and rural population measure of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.

“This project will be of immense benefit to Glencullen with it’s total project costs of €668,836, it will improve the quality of life and will strengthen the social and economic fabric for all the areas inhabitants.

“The Rural Development Programme for Ireland 2007-2013 has a budget of €4.9 billion over a 7-year period of which €2.5 billion will be funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and €2.4 billion by the national Exchequer.

“I am delighted to welcome this funding for Glencullen and look forward to the works progressing.”
