Time for a Minister for Dublin – Richmond

Following revenue figures released today to the Fine Gael Party that show that Dublin pays more than half of all the tax paid in the country despite accounting for only one quarter of the population, local Cllr Neale Richmond has called on Fine Gael in Government to create a specific Minister for Dublin.

Temporary Closure of Slate Cabin Lane, Sandyford

Slate Cabin Lane will be closed from Tuesday, 3rd August to Friday, 27th August 2010. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate the re-surfacing of the roadway and for drainage works.

Business support grants for Sandyford welcome – Richmond

Cllr Neale Richmond (Fine Gael) has welcomed the decision of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council to award grants of nearly €30,000 to Sandyford Business Estates Association.

“These grants were awarded as part of a Fine Gael/Labour initiative passed in last year’s budget and saw recognised business groups provided with funds to help with promotion and marketing activities.

“I am delighted to see that the innovative proposals put forward by Sandyford Business Estates Association have been awarded funding and I am sure they will go along way to reviving commerce in this, the engine of commerce in the County.

“The Business Promotion Fund has allocated grants worth €124,250 and a second round of applications for funds will be opened in early August.”

Anti-Litter & Anti-Graffiti Awareness Grants 2010

DSC_0001Is your organization planning a project to target anti-litter measures and raise awareness on the issue of litter or graffiti?

If you are, you may be eligible for a grant towards the cost of the project. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council wish to invite submissions from community groups, schools, Tidy Towns Committees or other organizations who are interested in receiving funding to co-fund public education and awareness initiatives on the subject of litter or graffiti.

Completed submissions should be made to the Environmental Awareness Officer of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council not later than Wednesday 30th June, 2010.
