27 year old Cllr. Neale Richmond represents the Glencullen-Sandyford Ward on Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council along with Cllr. Tom Joyce. He was elected as a first time candidate with over 17% of the votes in June 2009. Neale was elected as the youngest ever An Leas-Chathaoirleach of the County.

Based in Ballinteer; Neale was educated at Taney National School, Dundrum and Wesley College, Ballinteer.

Neale graduated from UCD in 2005 earning a BA in History and an MA in Politics, he returned to Ireland in late 2007 having spent the previous 2 years working first as an Advisor to Gay Mitchell MEP in Brussels and then as an Aid Worker in West Africa.

A playing member of Old Wesley RFC, Neale is a keen sportsman who has previously played Hockey, Cricket, Gaelic Football & Soccer at Club, School and University level. He remains heavily involved in a number of local clubs and voluntary organisations.

Neale is a member of the Dublin Regional Authority and the Dublin Regional Authority – EU Operational committee, he is also a Director of the DLR Leisure Services Board. On the Council, Neale sits on the Waste & Water and Housing Committees.

Neale’ priorities are more recreational and sporting facilities, an improved, integrated local transport system, increased resources to tackle anti-social behaviour, provision of better schools with more places in smaller classes, and proper regulation of management companies.

Neale is currently employed by the Houses of the Oireachtas as Parliamentary Assistant to Olivia Mitchell TD.

Tá Neale ag cur faoi i mBaile an tSaoir, d’fhreastal sé ar Scoil Naisiúnta Teach Naithí i nDún Droma agus ar Choláiste Wesley i mBaile an tSaoir.

Sa bhliain 2005 bronnadh céim BA sa Stair agus MA sa Pholaitíocht air ó Choláiste na hOllscoile, Baile Átha Cliath. Chaith sé dhá bhliain ag obair sa Bhruiséil mar Chomhairleoir do Gay Mitchell FPE agus seal ag obair mar Oibrí Cabhrach san Aifric Thiar, d’fhill sé i 2007.

Fear mór spóirt isea Neale, imríonn sé le foireann rugbaí Old Wesley agus d’imir sé haca, cruicéid, peil agus sacar ar scoil, san ollscoil agus ag leibhéal chlub. Tá sé sáite i roinnt mhaith clubanna agus eagraíochtaí deonacha áitiúla.

Tá Neale mar bhall de Údaras Réigiúnda Átha Cliath agus mar bhall den Coiste Oibríochta AE ar an údarás céanna, chomh maith le sin tá sé ina Stiurthóir ar Bhord Seirbhísí Fóillíochta Dún Laoighre – Ráth an Dúin.
