The Council’s Traffic Section has appointed a Contractor to undertake safety improvement works at the junction of Hillcrest Road, Enniskerry Road, Blackglen Road and Sandyford Road, commonly known as Lamb’s Cross.
The proposed Works can be summarised as follows:
– Tightening up of junction radii,
– providing increased footpath width at junctions,
– upgrading pedestrian crossing points to fully cater for visually and mobility impaired,
– providing crossings of each of the four approach roads,
– re-aligning crossing points where possible to improve sight lines,
– upgrade of footpaths around junction,
– creating clear vehicle entry and exit points for the area in front of the shops
– set back of short section of boundary wall of Mail House along Hillcrest Road to improve visibility.
These Works are scheduled to start on Monday, 14th July, 2014 and will be completed by the end of August 2014.
