PLANNING APPLICATIONS BROKEN DOWN BY WARD

Question: Councillor
N. Richmond

“To ask the Manager to give a report on the number of planning applications received by the Council broken down on a Ward by Ward basis for the years 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011?”

Reply:

It is not possible to give a completely accurate breakdown of applications on a ward by ward basis for the period in question for various legitimate reasons, e.g. the Drawing Office does not plot boundaries for advertising hoardings/bus stops/applications with insufficient location details etc. The most accurate method of calculation of planning applications in a given year is obtained from the Planning APAS database which does not break down applications by ward.

The following table shows the number of planning applications received by the

Planning Department for the years 2006-2011:

Year Applications Rec’d

2006: 3,141

2007: 2,831

2008: 2,277

2009: 1,475

2010: 1,231

2011: 1,019
