In late 2011 the Council identified quality issues with the surfacing of the All Weather pitches that are being constructed beside Stepaside Golf Club. These issues have now been resolved by the contractor and it is envisaged that work will be completed by mid April, subject to weather conditions being favourable in the meantime. A number of local sports clubs have expressed an interest in renting these new pitches and it is hoped arrangements can be made to facilitate this.
