Fine Gael in Government

Delivering for you

Once again, Fine Gael has come to Government at a very difficult time for our country. In the few short months since taking office, we have already taken big steps to put the country back on the right track.

The recent renegotiation of the EU/IMF deal will reduce the cost of funding to the State, the Government’s Jobs Initiative is supporting thousands of jobs at home, and the banking crisis has been brought under control. Above all else, Fine Gael is making the system of Government fairer and more progressive by cutting political perks, reforming a dysfunctional healthcare system and doing more to protect the defenceless in our society. The months and years ahead will be challenging but the country will recover and, with the right direction, Ireland will emerge stronger than ever.

“The old licences have been a known area of concern due to the large amount of fraudulent licenses in circulation. It has even come to the stage where Irish driving licenses are no longer accepted as a valid form of photo ID in many places because they can be so easily tampered with.
