The signalised traffic lights at the Sandyford Road / Wyckham Way junction, (beside the RSA Building), have been upgraded over the last few weeks.
On Tuesday night / Wednesday morning of this week the lights were switched off and re-wired to a new control box to allow a new phasing programme to be installed and to allow the junction to be set up to respond to changing traffic patterns.

In addition the junction is monitored remotely via computer and CCTV camera.
The Council’s Traffic Section has noted a vast improvement in traffic flows through the junction as well as improved safety for pedestrians crossing the roadway.
